The Dudheshwar Nath Temple, located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, is a revered ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Its origins are steeped in legend and mythology, contributing to its significance among devotees.
Historical Significance:
According to local lore, the temple’s history dates back to the era of Ravana, the demon king from the epic Ramayana. It is believed that Ravana’s father, Sage Vishrava, performed intense penance at this site. The temple is also associated with a miraculous event where a cow would spontaneously release milk onto a particular spot. Upon investigation, villagers discovered a self-manifested Shiva Lingam at that location, leading to the establishment of the temple.
